Institute of Health Psychology Symposium 2024

The Institute of Health Psychology invites all IHP members, Health Psychologists and Psychologists working in physical health settings to join us for our inaugural symposium.
Please note, the second day (16th) finishes at 12.30pm

The symposium will focus on clinical skills for health psychology practice in Aotearoa through a variety of thought-provoking workshops and talks.  After a day of mahi, there’s also time to connect and mingle with colleagues at the symposium dinner (included in the registration price).

Spaces for this event are limited to a maximum of 50 participants, so please get in quick.

  • ADHD Informed Practice for Psychologists: Dr Maddi Derrick, Clinical Psychologist & Director of Hobart ADHD Consultants
  • Working with Pasifika people: Jessee Fia’ali’i, Health Psychologist & Sonali Dutt, Health Psychologist
  • Pepeha workshop: Eva Morunga, Health Psychologist

Registration Options

Limited offer special rate for health psychology students and interns $200

(this special rate is available for the first seven students/interns who register, after that students and interns can still register but at the early career psychologist rate. Students/interns must also be IHP members, but membership is free)

Early career psychologists (Five or less years qualified)

-         IHP Member       $320

-         Non Member      $550

Advanced Career Psychologists (Six or more years qualified)

-         IHP Member       $550

-         Non Member      $750

Registration fee includes – talks and workshops over the 15th and 16th October, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea on the 15th, morning tea on the 16th, and the Symposium dinner on the 15th

Grants

Dinner

We look forward to welcoming you to our symposium dinner at Plume on Tuesday 15th October at 6pm. Enjoy delicious kai and a chance to connect with colleagues. 3 course-meal included, beverages are excluded but available for purchase.

Accommodation

Plume is offering a limited number of rooms in their accommodation for symposium attendees at the discounted rate of $250 per bedroom based on single occupancy only. The majority of accommodation is in 2-bedroom villas (each attendee will have their own bedroom and en suite, but living area is shared). An example can be seen at https://plumecollections.co.nz/stay/

If you indicate that you would like accommodation, we will arrange this with Plume who will email you an invoice directly. Payment will be needed prior to the stay and made via credit card (2.5% fee). Your accommodation is not confirmed until your invoice is paid.
