Programme
This Foundation Intensive launches a comprehensive professional recognition pathway for coaching psychology practitioners in Aotearoa New Zealand. The retreat introduces all 10 competencies from the CPSIG framework, grounds the cohort in Te Whiringā as the foundational cultural paradigm, and establishes reflective and supervisory habits that will continue through Rounds 1–3 of the pathway.
The programme is designed primarily for experienced psychologists (many already practising as coaching psychologists) and assumes familiarity with psychological theory, ethics, and supervised practice. Student members (Masters-level in psychology or higher) are welcome and will be supported through a bridging mini-curriculum and mentored integration pathway.
Purpose and Context
- Establish shared cultural, ethical, and professional foundations for coaching psychology practice in Aotearoa New Zealand
- Introduce and develop proficiency across the 10 CPSIG coaching psychology competencies.
- Ground participants in Te Whiringā, shaping a culturally responsive, locally anchored professional identity.
- Build reflective capacity, supervision rhythms, and peer-coaching habits.
- Prepare participants for ongoing development through the multi-round professional recognition pathway.
